What is a study session?
About this study session:
With this study session, NOW and our ten partners from eight European countries, hoped to develop a toolkit of interdisciplinary practices for the inclusion of young migrants and refugees in Europe.

Inter-diversity learning
Participants were able to build connections with young people working on the same cause from Europe and beyond

Participants are now part of NOW online community of young changemakers from all across the world

Participants were able to learn how different organizations implement inclusive practices in their day-to-day work with young refugees and migrants

Toolkit for inclusive practices
Participants took part in creating a toolkit that can help organizations working with young refugees to deepen their understanding and implementation of inclusive practices
WHO WERE THE STUDY SESSION’S PARTICIPANTS?
Applicants had to fulfill the following criteria:

Be a resident of one of the Council of Europe member states;

Be 18 – 30 years old;
-
Had experience (paid or volunteer) in working with young refugees and/or migrants;

Or being a young migrant or refugee themselves;
-
Commit to participate in the whole study session;

Be able to travel to Budapest (if necessary, we provide documents such an invitation letter for visa etc.).
People with disabilities*, members of the LGBTQI+ community, youth with migrant background and youth not attending university education were especially encouraged to apply.

WHAT WERE THE COSTS?
According to rules of the Council of Europe the participation in the Study Session costed 50 EUR. All travel and insurance costs were reimbursed during the Study Session. Lodging and meals during the duration of the Study Session were provided by the European Youth Centre.
NOW is committed to offering learning opportunities to all young people who normally would not have access to similar learning opportunities. Therefore, we were able to offer up to 5 scholarships for young people experiencing financial hardship to cover the 50 EUR participation fee.
